Cities worldwide are trying to improve their image and reputation with place-marketing and place-branding practices, aiming to attract new residents, tourists and investors and enhance civic pride. This tendency is accompanied by the quest of a theoretical framework and methodological tools enabling the design and evaluation of appropriate strategies, all leading to highly interesting debates within the academy and at regional and local level.
In Greece, as elsewhere, city authorities and decision makers are looking for ways to improve the promotion of their respective locality. In March 2012, the 1st Panhellenic Place Marketing and Place Branding Conference was held in Volos, with great success and positive impact. The 2nd Conference aims to continue in this effort, inviting academics, members of regional and local administrations, practitioners and decision makers to present their knowledge and experience in this field.
The Department of Planning and Regional Development of the University of Thessaly and the Municipality of Larissa, in cooperation with other local institutions and organizations, invite you to contribute to the Conference and its parallel sessions as speakers, exhibitors or auditors.
